Question

I only worked for this employer for two days, and I do not want to work there anymore. Am I covered?
Answer

All injuries that happen are covered, and it does not matter how long you were employed before the injury occurred. The question as to what happens if I quit working there after my injury is more complicated. By voluntarily quitting after your accident it does not terminate all of your rights under workers' compensation. However, it could affect your right to temporary total disability benefits. It could also reduce the amount of permanent disability benefits you might be entitled to. If you voluntarily quit when they are offering you a job, it will certainly make you ineligible for unemployment. If you decide you would like to stop working after a work injury, you should consult with a lawyer to obtain more specific advice about your specific situation and you should do so before you voluntarily quit your job.
